ATARprepAI ("we", "us") is an AI-powered study tool for Australian high school students. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, and how we handle it — in plain language.
By creating an account, you confirm you have read and agree to this policy. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian should also review this document.
Account information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and a securely hashed version of your password. We never store your password in plain text.
Study data: We store your quiz statistics, streak history, achievements, and the questions you answered incorrectly (your "mistake bank"). This is synced to your account so you can access it across devices.
Usage data: We collect basic information about how you use the service, including which subjects and difficulty levels you select. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party analytics.
We do not use your data for advertising, sell it to third parties, or share it with anyone except as described below.
Anthropic (Claude AI): When you generate a quiz or have a written answer graded, the notes or topic you enter are sent to Anthropic's API to generate questions. Anthropic processes this data according to their own Privacy Policy. Do not paste content that contains your personal details or sensitive information.
Railway: Our servers run on Railway's infrastructure. Your data is stored on servers located in the United States. Railway's Privacy Policy applies to infrastructure-level data.
We keep your account and study data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all associated data is permanently removed within 30 days.

Passwords are hashed using industry-standard algorithms before storage. We use HTTPS for all data in transit. However, no system is perfectly secure — please use a unique password for this account.
If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify you by email or by displaying a notice when you next log in. Continued use of the service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
